When I saw this little owl, I just fell in love with it’s little toes! The Christmas Owl is the perfect project for all owl lovers! This is a very straight-forward pattern that uses single crochet (SC), increases and decreases. It is easily completed in a sitting by a crocheter of any level of experience.
Again, I was wanting to make more of a stuffie, rather than an amigurumi, so I used a higher-weight yarn and a 6.5mm hook. For my project, I used Red Heart Soft Essentials in Biscuit and Sunny Day.
For the head, I did an extra increase round after rnd 7 and added 2 SC rounds after rnd 9. I then had to add an additional decrease round as well to account for the increase.

For the body, I added an increase round after rnd 8 and two extra SC rounds after rnd 9. Of course, I then had to add a decrease round to account for the increase.
For the wings and tail, to get that fluffy look, I used Patons Smiles in a light brown (i lost the label). This is a DK yarn, so I held it double-stranded with the Soft Essentials Biscuit yarn.
I also altered the facial features slightly, using felt for the whites of the eyes and 20mm safety eyes for the centers. To give the eyes a more finished appearance, I crocheted a chain of 20.
I am insanely happy with how this cutie turned out! What are some of your favourite owl patterns?
